Image
The Venice of the North Europe!! Yes, it is famous for Canals. Netherlands is my top favourite destination in the world, especially their countryside. The life in Netherland is dreamy.  As a child, I loved getting lost in landscape paintings. I experienced those portrait- perfect landscapes in Netherlands. Madurodam It is a miniature park which showcases model replicas of famous landmarks in the country. The work is done considering smallest of the features and is exquisite. I would highly recommend visiting this Mini-Holland. Keukenhof Tulip Garden The first thing which comes to mind about Netherland is carpeted Tulip ground and a wind mill nearby. This garden is open only for few days. Generally, it is open from 24th March till 15th May every year. It's huge and comprises of more than 800 varieties of Tulips. The colour theme in the garden is a treat to your eyes. The city of Churches- Cologne (Germany)

Image
The first thing that strikes our mind after hearing the city name is Cologne Perfume. Yes, it was first time launched in Cologne in 1709.  We stayed in Cologne only for a night. It was more like a transit point for us, however it was worth visiting.  Cologne Cathedral It is the city of Cathedrals. Out of all the churches, the most famous is Cologne Cathedral, which is the main tourist attraction. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. It's grandeur is jaw-dropping! It took century's to built this edifice. The construction started in 13th Century due to political up-downs it was stopped many times. It was completed finally in 19th century. The interior of the Church is equally enchanting. You can spend days to observe and understand the message the stained glasses of the church depicts. There is a really good shopping spree near the Cathedral. We spent our time on food, the famous confectionary outlets are a must-visit. Hohenzollern Bridge   you must have heard a famous tale i

Titisee Lake - In the laps of Black Forest (Germany)

Titisee lake is a glacial lake.  The name of the lake means- Little Child in german. Thankfully we added it to our plan, it was one of the most serene places I have visited.  It was our transit point. We planned it on the way to Switzerland.  The location offers various spa resorts and is one of the favourite rejuvenating destination of Germans.  The lake is located in the Black Forest. I loved the spiral roads and the journey to reach the Titisee lake. The forest is truly dense and beautiful. I would love to revisit black forest next time Drubba Cuckoo Clock  Travel truly enriches your knowledge. I have across the cuckoo clocks zillion times, but I never knew it's origin.  We visited the factory and the presenter shows you how the clocks made. I really appreciate the craftsmanship. There were thousands of clocks, all beautiful, portraying different themes. I settled on one for our house.

Paris- The Paradise

Image
(Visited in May 2017) This is my most favourite city!  I am in love with the theme of the city, it's architect, colour and an iron wonder- Eiffel Tower. We travelled to Paris from London, the Euro Star connecting the lands under sea. The experience is lavish! We were in Paris for 4 days. There is so much to see and experience that 4 days weren't enough. We could not make it to the wonderful Disney Land. No regrets, I am going to revisit the city soon! City Tour-  There are city tour buses, which will show you around with an English speaking guide. First day, it is the best to take a city tour via bus, to understand the landscape. The few attractions like Arc de Triumph, Opera Theatre, Alexander Bridge, The tomb of Nepoleon, Roue De Paris  can be covered in this tour. You don't need much attention of time for these as you will be passing these monuments throughout your tour. Versailles Palace You may get lost in this palace of 700 rooms. Though very few rooms are open for to

Intoxicating Brussels

I smell Chocolates...Waffles... Beer!! Yes, you will fall in love with this intoxicating part of Brussels. Grand Place Square There is a fair everyday at this square. It is the heart of the city. It is surrounded by some beautiful gothic constructions.  The square is connected by various avenues and these avenues are full of gallery cafes. We spend entire day strolling around.  The aroma of waffles and chocolates drives you drooling for it. Overall, I find food in Europe quite expensive compared to Indian restaurants. However my experience in Brussles differs. You can fulfil your hunger in 1 Euro. The waffles are available from 50 cents onward. It's worth exploring different flavours. Brussels is a Beer capital of the world. Brewing of beer is a part of Belgian culture. They offer some unique types of beer. The testers are available in every cafe. It's heaven for beer lovers. Manneken Pis It is located at a walking distance from The Grand Place Square, at the end of one of the

I loved the gardens, so well manicured.  Madame Tussauds Legacy of the studio continues. It's full of entertainment. The 5D show is involving.  The small train ride in the studio is full of surprises.   The London Eye Situated at the bay of
